Data protection law in German-Chinese scientific cooperation - Kiel University and online

What are the special requirements for international research projects and scientific collaborations, especially with regard to data transfers between Germany and China? How can you safely navigate the web of German and Chinese data protection laws?

 

This China-Toolkit event is aimed at researchers and administrative staff at universities and research institutes in northern Germany who would like to gain insights into the following topics using practical examples:

 

  • Introduction to Chinese data protection law and its special features.

 

  • Comparison of the regulations: What are the similarities and differences between European and Chinese data protection law?

 

  • Practical handling of data protection in German-Chinese research projects: from personal and sensitive data, so-called “important data”, to confidential information.
